" To survive, never give up"    

1999年9月，吴天来开始担任广西凌云县泗城镇陇雅村党支部书记，他立下“为了生存，永不放弃”的誓言，在“不适合人类居住”的山旮旯里，带领群众架电、修路、修水柜。  

In September 1999, Wu Tianlai began to serve as the Party branch secretary of Longya village, Sicheng Town, Lingyun County, Guangxi Province. Taking a vow "To survive, never give up", he led the local people to make efforts in supplying electricity, building roads and repairing water cabinets in Longya village, an "uninhabitable" place in the mountain.  

上世纪八十年代末，吴天来已经积攒了80多万的家产，没有在城里买地建房，而是把自己挣来的“辛苦钱”用到家乡的“治贫”上。  

At the end of the 1980s, Wu Tianlai had saved more than 800,000 yuan. Instead of buying land and building houses in the city, he contributed all his hard-eared savings to help his poor hometown.  

在吴天来的带领下，2012年，陇雅村投入800万元采取“公司+基地+农户”的模式，推广种植铁皮石斛，2013年全村人均收入突破6000元，实现了全村“大家富”的目标。  

Under his guidance, in 2012, Longya village invested 8 million yuan to promote the planting of Dendrobium officinale by adopting the mode of "Company + Base + Farmers". In 2013, the per capita income of the whole village exceeded 6,000 yuan, realizing the goal of "Being rich together" in the village.  

吴天来还带领群众修建沼气池260多个，改变了陇雅村人畜杂居的传统习俗，使陇雅村成为干净、美丽、富裕的社会主义新农村。  

Wu Tianlai also led the people to build more than 260 biogas digesters, which changed the traditional customs of people and animals living together in Longya village, making Longya village a clean, beautiful and prosperous new village of socialism.
